Magic of the mountains, power of the water 

Wonderful mountains to take off, a glide away from the main alps, inveigle to fly away.

On the entry of the valley, which is the longest sidevalley of the Hohen Tauern, is Badgastein.

A town full of tradition in a glamorous coulisse: Belle-epoch-romance at the waterfall, wellness-pleasure in the new spa and a rich choice of culture and entertainment attract people

from all over the world. Absolutely unimpressive is the Stubnerkogel.

But if you stand at the takeoff, you will recognize the qualities of the mountain. The east place is 160 m wide, ideal pitched, with a superb view to the Graukogel. Through its direction, the east side invites for thermal and xc-flights. The north takeoff is a lawn, easy to start. The west place is 70 m wide, with a steeper gradient, for afternoon flights.

Placed in the middle of the valley is Bad Hofgastein. Here you find a mix between hospitality in an alp-style and international comfort. Varied sport and leisure-offers, fitness and wellness in the new spa Alpen Therme as well as the cure and rehabilitation centre makes Hofgastein to the ideal relax and health town.

The third “town” in the valley, Dorfgastein, is known with its pure mountain romance and hospitality. Sporty orientated guests will find all, what their hearts will request: from brilliant places for paragliding and hanggliding to uncountable walk and mountainbike paths.
